It's the end of the first month of the new year. Not a lot has happened since the last entry. I'm still working on moving back into dad's house and I'm hoping to be done before March; most of my important stuff is out at this point, the last few things I need to deal with are my daily wear, kitchenware, toiletries, a few boxes, finishing building my downgrade PC and getting my hands on some heavy duty countertop brackets to build a sort of floating desk that spans the entirety of one of my bedroom walls. I am 100% getting rid of these two fucking Gamerâ„¢ desks I bought because they juuuust barely don't line up height-wise and it's making me certifiably neurotic. I'm also hoping to replace my Gamerâ„¢ desk chair with a Flexispot or Herman Miller chair in the near future, the pleather has been cracking and falling apart for the past year and a half and the armrests are in constant need of having to be rescrewed back into the chair.
In better news, I have a small update on the museum: most of it's merchandise. I finally got my hands on one of the last three collectible cards I need to finish out my card collection!
This is one of the holofoil/glitter cards I was missing, no.75, I'm still missing no.77 (inside the caravan artwork) and the mail order only promo card, of which I've never seen it for sale and can't find anything about anyone getting one of them. I hope it exists somewhere out there because it would really fucking suck if it was lost media, like the Jump Festa and E3 FFCC demos.
While I don't currently have it in-hand (waiting for more unrelated stuff to arrive at my proxy's warehouse before creating another shipment), I did find my last Square Enix Cafe collab towel for sale by happenstance a bit ago:
Note: the colours are inverted in the first picture because it's folded backwards. I had to do a doubletake when I got the pictures from my proxy. All that's left now is that god damn moogle clear pouch.
In big news, Chapter 1 Part 1 of Chronicle of a Small Village is out now.
For the most part, this particular section of the book is complete. I need to go back and reupload it when I get Part 2 done because a couple of the graphics pages are incomplete and I'm not 100% happy with some stuff text-wise; I really wanted to get this thing out ASAP because I've been working on this for a while now. I also haven't decided whether or not if I want to try and edit the cover to slap the English title and text on it.
Outside the translation projects, I'm running out of things to do for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I have most of the official merchandise at this point and am currently not in a position (financially and otherwise) to be making my own DIY merch, though I have plans to once that changes. The handful of things I don't have are incredibly rare and probably will never pop up for sale, or are stupidly and exorbitantly expensive (see: the Crystal White Gamecube set). So I've decided to move on to translating stuff for a different (dead) IP that I grew up with.
I don't know if I'll make a different subsite for it specifically or if I'll just put it on my personal site. But it's something I'm both looking forward to and dreading to work on, despite there not being a ton of official publications or doujinshi for it.
Despite running out of things to do, I won't be abandoning this shrine site; it'll be staying up for as long as Neocities is around (or I may just migrate to NekoWeb or even figure out hosting my own site, who knows). Updates will probably become far more sporadic as I work on hunting down as much of the remaining rare merchandise as I can, working on translations, and the eventual DIY merch.
